Byzantia Each line of paint brings something different to
the artist and can be used on many different surfaces. Stewart Gill paints were
originally designed as textile paints. But don't stop there. Use them on
fabric, paper, clay, shrink plastic, tyvek and wood. They are water-based so
they can be mixed with any acrylic medium or thinned heavily or lightly with
water.
Mix your colors. Mix colors from different lines. Add Colourise to your MetaMica or Pearlise or Byzantia to create your own personal palette of colors. Add a white Alchemy to Colourise colors to create a wonderful range of Iridescent (Duotone) colors.
The colors are very intense and a little goes a very long way. Replace your Lumiere's and Twinkling H2Os with Byzantia or MetaMica colors. Twinkling H2Os are very popular these days. You can get the same effect by putting just a touch of Byzantia or MetaMica on your palette and add lots of water. Paint your paper just as you would with the Twinks. Spritz with a water bottle, dry with a heat tool and get those hard and/or soft edges as you would with the Twinks.
Add some glaze to the colors to get a product similar to Lumiere. I like to add a touch of water to the glaze to loosen the paint just a bit more.
