After I finished the project from my last blog post using the Fowler Faces I had a leftover piece of Mineral paper with a gorgeous background begging to used.
Click on over to my previous post to review how I created the background with Mineral paper, Dylusions ink spray and the Constellation stencil.
I also used Uni Posca Paint pens, scrap of dictionary paper, Distress Crayons in twisted citron, mustard seed and lucky clover, Dina Wakley Gilt paint, gesso and a leftover house embellishment I created from a previous project (on which I used the Quattro Flower stencil).
After using water to create the border I improved the house embellishment with pink paint, Quattro stencil and Dina's Gilt paint. I love that golden shine!
Paint pens help beef up the border to add more texture and interest. To create my landscape with the dictionary paper I colored it with the distress crayons and gesso and adhered to the surface with gel medium.
I highlighted the stars in the sky with the yellow Distress Crayon, regular water and Gilt paint.
I wanted more texture on the background so I dripped water strategically down the surface of the paper. A final touch was done with watered down Gilt paint dripped down the surface.
When everything was dry the house was then glued down.
The results are fabulous and my favorite part is the sparkly background!
