Shana's new addiction, carving rubber stamps!

Hello my lovely lovelies!!

I am totally psyched! I received my Design Team box just in time for this post! I am warning you! You are going to want to go over to the Artcellar store to get this stuff!

First, I want to show you the new addiction that Lisa has fed, and I don't think I am alone! We received a Speedball Linocutter and a piece of Speedy-Carve rubber to cut. I sat in my favorite chair and just went for it! I ended up carving this awesomeness, I am totally addicted.

I cant wait to get more to cut to create texture in my art pieces, and some awesomness for making cards.

I think my favorite item in the box is the new Dina Wakley paint colors that Artistcellar now carries! I totally adore them! The buttery texture and the colors are fantastic. I think my favorites in the bunch are Elephant and Ocean with Blushing and Evergreen coming a close 2nd.

We also received Yupo paper which I LOVE! It is a substrate that helps you let go of controlling your color. I love to use it with acrylics, inks, and watercolors. It is awesome. Read about it HERE.

This piece I created using the Yupo paper, Dina Wakley paints, Generals Scribe-All pencil and the Halftone Dots, Sacred Geometry and the Coral stencils. I watered down the paints and let them float on the surface then carefully chased the puddles of color using my heat gun for the base background, creating a fluid looking base.

I then used paint through the stencils for more texture. I used the piece I carved to add random parts of it as a stamp using a staz-on stamp pad and added a thin layer of the Fuchsia for more contrast.

At this point I just looked at the piece to see what wanted to come out and be seen, and since my kitty was stalking me there was of course a kitty in there! This little piece was so fun to work on and it will end up in my journal maybe in a layered page!

Thank you to Artistcellar and to Lisa for picking out the perfect items for us to create with!

Big hugs and mushy stuff!!
