When Art Doesn't Go as Planned... -with Cristin

Sometimes, art doesn't go as planned.

Have you ever had that happen?

I was working on a painting on mineral paper... it had all the elements I enjoy, from bright colors to Artistcellar stencils to anatomical heart and eyeballs. 

But something still wasn't there....

Since I'm not one to waste anything, I decided to cut out the elements I liked and collage them into my art journal for a much bigger piece.

I grabbed a magazine and found this awesome portrait, and used matte medium to collage it with my other elements.

Next, I grabbed acrylic paint and added color and texture. To finish it off, I used Distress Crayons through stencils for added texture and fun color!

Ta-da!

I LOVE this spread, and when I look at it, it reminds me of what it often feels like to be an empath... so I added in "Deep inside my skin, I feel all shadows of the world multiplied."
